Poems

the sun.

the sun found me
in the warmest of winters.
when it’s soft, subtle wink broke through the haze
& brought me back to the place and time
when your gaze met mine.

i had never met your kind.
someone who smiles with their eyes,
& spray paints my name in pastel skies
making my heart beat yellow every time.

then winter planted me somewhere new,
hemispheres away from you,
i was there,
swaying along to our favorite songs.
& there you were,
growing flowers inside the walls of my heart
all from miles of unsaid words apart.

if it makes you bloom from the inside out,
chase it patiently.

i know because
i found you
and the sun found me.
